Privacy Policy

Note: This privacy policy is written for the German market and is provided in English for information purposes; the German version is legally binding. It covers the technical components of this website (hosting, Bootstrap, download counters, forms).

1. Controller

Thorsten Jochum, Bergstraße 5, 66333 Völklingen, Germany, email: hallo@kreativkante.de — see Legal Notice.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO AG. When the pages are accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information transmitted by the browser in server log files (including IP address, date and time of the request, page accessed, browser used). This data is technically required to deliver the website and ensure operational security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Embedded external resources (Bootstrap)

Fonts are served entirely locally from our own server; no connection to third-party font providers is made. For display and function, this website only still uses externally embedded resources from Bootstrap (CSS/JS, icons), which are loaded from the provider's server when a page is accessed. Your IP address may be transmitted to the provider in the process. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a technically flawless and appealing presentation).

4. Download areas (Library & Gallery)

The download counts shown in the library and gallery are counted anonymously, without any personal reference. No download is linked to an individual visitor.

5. Language selection and accessibility settings

Your language selection (German, English, French, Luxembourgish) is stored in a technically necessary cookie so that the website is displayed in your chosen language on your next visit. This cookie contains no personal data and is automatically deleted after one year. Likewise, settings from the accessibility menu (text size, contrast, grayscale, link underlining, easy-read font) are stored purely locally in your browser (local storage) and are never transmitted to our server or to any third party.

6. Forms (Wall of Demands, guestbooks)

Where this website provides forms (e.g. the Wall of Demands, the guestbook of "Beyond Forgetting" or of PROJECT IV-X-XXVI), the information entered (name or "Anonymous", text, an optionally uploaded image) as well as the IP address for abuse prevention (rate limiting) are processed. All submissions are reviewed by an admin before publication. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in moderated, abuse-free use).

7. Links to external offerings

This website links to external offerings (Tatort:TIER, Ribbon Against Animal Cruelty, exisTIERt). The respective operators are solely responsible for data protection on these external sites. Please refer to their own privacy notices.

Visitor counter

For general traffic measurement, we run a privacy-friendly visitor counter (total count and daily view on the homepage). No cookie is set and no IP address is stored — instead, only a hash value newly generated each day from the IP address and calendar date is used briefly for duplicate detection and is not permanently linked back to the IP address afterwards. Attribution to individual persons is not possible. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymized traffic measurement).

Statement gallery

Anyone submitting a photo via the Statement Gallery explicitly consents, before submitting, to the publication of the image and the given name on this website. The email address additionally provided is used only for internal follow-up questions and is not published. Every statement is editorially reviewed and approved before publication. An already published submission may be reported for deletion at any time, informally by email to hallo@kreativkante.de. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

8. Your rights

You have the right at any time to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as a right to data portability and objection. Please contact the address given above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.

9. Last updated

This privacy policy was last updated in August 2026.
